Youth as Champions (YAC) is a cohort of four enthusiastic youth-serving organizations involving their youth in learning how to create impactful social media about elevating the teaching profession.

What is Youth as Champions (YAC)?

  • Elevate Teaching has received a grant from Minneapolis Foundation for its Youth as Champions work (YAC).

  • The purpose of YAC is to engage a cohort youth-serving organizations (serving high school and college-aged youth) from across the state of Minnesota to help facilitate content creation; made by young people, for young people, and dedicated to elevating the teaching profession.

  • YAC will occur during the 2023-2024 school year

Objectives

Empower Youth

Co-create healing spaces and build power for youth to see themselves as part of the solution to diversify the teacher workforce, and be champions to elevate teaching.

Spread the Word

Co-create social media content for a Youth audience based on the message framework targeted to their peers and to young people

Participants Will…

  • Learn from communications professionals about creating impactful communications

  • Use the skills they learn to create social media content using the medium of their choice!  

  • Influence the Elevate Teaching Movement and its key messages, events, and communications.
