ELEVATE TEACHING Launches “Be a Future Maker” Campaign
Do YOU have a Teacher Story?
Minneapolis (Feb 10, 2025) —“Be a Future Maker,” a series of out-of-home advertising and digital ads for and about the teaching profession, launched on February 10, 2025. The ads are part of an eight-week campaign to champion teachers and the teaching profession. The campaign is especially interested in inspiring high school and college students as well as career changers to consider teaching as a profession, especially those from communities of color and Indigenous communities.
“Be a Future Maker” is one of many activities of Elevate Teaching, a statewide movement dedicated to uplifting the teaching profession by championing teachers and their personal stories of impact. The movement, developed in 2022, is led by acclaimed educator Dr. Rose Wan-Mui Chu, whose work has been devoted to the tireless pursuit of educational equity and excellence. “The movement has been many years in the making and brings together a network of champions who envision a society where the teaching profession is highly respected and honored,” says Dr. Chu.
Stories are a powerful way to shift how we talk about, view and relate to the teaching profession. Now more than ever, there is a greater need to emphasize the role of teachers in our lives, especially from Indigenous communities and communities of color. With the unsettling changes at the federal level, today’s youth and adults can pave the way for affirmative transformation as the world’s future makers.
