Strengthening Special Educator Pathways for Three Intermediate School Districts

Our Elevate Teaching team is composed of powerhouse voices in the field of education.

Prior to joining ET as Education Content Specialist, Dr. Marci Levy-Maguire worked with Intermediate School District 917. As Director of Communications & Strategic Partnerships in 2025, she commissioned the making of a media documentary about a program she helped develop called Strengthening Special Educator Pathways for Three Intermediate School Districts (917, 287, and 916). The program was part of a Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program for Minnesota's four Intermediate School Districts. Its aim was to bridge the gap between the majority of paraprofessionals' educational attainment and the prerequisites for Apprenticeship - generally the equivalent of an Associate's degree. The commissioned four-part docu-series, entitled “A Special Purpose: Special Education Pathways in Intermediate District,” was a partnership with Intermediate Districts 917, 916, 287 and  Captivate Media + Consulting. In May 2026, the prestigious Telly Awards announced that “Special Purpose…” is this year’s  Silver Winner in the Campaign-Educational Institution category.  The Telly Awards honors excellence in television and video across screens. 13,000 global entries from 6 continents and all 50 states compete for these prestigious awards.

Congratulations, Dr. Marci and partners!
